1. Raw materials
The pottery is made of clay, and the raw material of porcelain is china clay. Kaolin is the main raw material, which has good plasticity and fire resistance.
2. Temperature
The temperature at which pottery is fired is usually between 700 and 800 degrees Celsius, and the firing temperature for porcelain is 1200 degrees.
3. Glaze
The surface of the porcelain usually has high temperature glaze, and the surface is shiny. There is no glaze on the surface of the pottery.
4. Water absorption and sound

Porcelain does not absorb water and has a crisp sound when struck. Pottery has a certain degree of water absorption, and the sound of percussion is dull.
